Lisa Marie Restaurant Review:

Lisa Marie is the offshoot of Toronto’s famed food truck Fidel Gastro, and the brick-and-mortar restaurant serves up bold-flavored dishes inspired by street food from all over the world. The space is casual with low lighting, wooden benches, and an Elvis Presley mural. A tapas-style menu allows guests to sample a variety of dishes, like Thai macaroni and cheese tossed in a creamy green coconut curry sauce, and Seoul fried chicken, sweet and sour with just a hint of fire. Not all of the dishes are homeruns, however; Peruvian meatballs are moist to fall-apart tenderness, but the tomato sauce is tinny tasting and needs to be cooked out longer. The cereal-crusted fish po’ boy requires more garnishes to offset the generous amount of bread. Weekend brunch is a highlight; try Lisa Marie’s signature pad Thai fries, which are coated in a sriracha-laden sauce and topped with bean sprouts and cilantro. Canadian craft beers are a focus and include varieties from Calgary’s Big Rock Brewery and Toronto’s own Mill Street Brewery.
