The Sur House Restaurant Review:
If you are lucky enough to pass through this part of the world on a coastal journey, allow time on your itinerary to stop at Ventana Big Sur. The restaurant has a natural wood interior, but if the weather holds, opt for a table on the veranda. You'll never get tired of this panorama. Breakfast kicks off with freshly pressed juices, buttermilk pancakes and omelets elevated with foraged mushrooms or Humboldt Fog cheese. For lunch, consider the cioppino or the fried chicken sandwich with ciabatta. In the evening, chef Paul Corsentino presents a four-course prix-fixe menu with seasonal options that might range from ricotta cavatelli with braised lamb to a grilled New York strip with red wine gastrique. Satisfy your sweet tooth with the fromage blanc panna cotta. Selections are also offered à la carte. Wine, beer and cocktails are available.
