 B Spot Restaurant Review: B Spot, a restaurant from Iron Chef Michael Symon, is a no muss, no fuss kind of place. The B in B Spot stands for bar snacks, big salads (six total), burgers, bratwurst (five variations) and bologna. It could also stand for budget-friendly. The "Yo! Burger," made with fried salami, provolone, shasha sauce and pickled onion, is so good it earned Symon the top prize at the South Beach Wine & Food Festival for the second year in a row. Other must-tries include the chili cheese fries and the breueben, a burger that defies formality by piling salty corned beef on top of the beef patty along with other typical, Reuben-esque accompaniments. Most, if not all, of the burgers are big, messy things. Once you’ve finished wiping your chin (and your hands, nose and, maybe, your elbows, too), order up a shake. Our favorite is the chocolate-banana marshmallow with dark rum. If that doesn’t quench your thirst, try any one of the 40 craft brews categorized from light bodied to tart and funky or hops-driven and dark. |
