| Perched on the edge of River Oaks, the second location of Barnaby’s is a neighborhood destination. This polished spot with a sunny patio carries over the same whimsical doggie bone motif of the lower Montrose original. The home-style comfort cooking includes heaping portions of Doctor Gale’s meatloaf, big burgers---beef, buffalo, turkey and vegetarian---served with crispy fries, and a creamy chicken salad sandwich with pesto and artichoke hearts. For dessert, try a heart-warming version of mom’s apple pie and a cappuccino. Simple and substantial breakfasts are served until 10:30 a.m. The waitstaff is full of personality and teamwork-efficiency so as bustling as it gets the service is usually pretty fast. |
