| Chef Bill Fairbanks, formerly of Barbette, Solera and La Belle Vie, turns his attention to the joys of agave, paired with playful, regionally inspired Mexican fare. The bar boasts more than 100 different tequilas, which are poured by the shot, used as a base in a thirst-quenching variety of margaritas, or paired with a long list of house-made sodas. (We suggest the Enter the Dragon, a passion fruit margarita with cava and pepper.) The kitchen efficiently turns out a creative list of Mexican small plates, including sugarcane skewered tequila shrimp, grilled crab empanadas, squash blossom quesadillas and a few meal-size main courses that range from seared tuna to Oaxaca-style spare ribs with grilled plantains. The colorful storefront space has a 24-hour-party vibe and buzzes with a young, chic-looking crowd. |
