THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Bernadine's Restaurant Review:
Bernadine’s sports an industrial-chic vibe that complements the Gulf Coast menu of fresh seafood and Southern-style pork delicacies. The I-10 platter ($70) is a tower of chilled and smoked delights from the sea. Po’ boys and fried catfish are on the menu along with dinner entrées like a Dr. Pepper-glazed duck, a 24-ounce rib-eye and the cochon de lait au presse, or pressed suckling pig. Try a cocktail before dinner or a bottle of wine with your meal, but save room for the blood orange upside-down cake topped with a scoop of buttermilk ice cream. Brunchers pack in on weekends, enjoying the same cold Gulf items as well as black pepper biscuits with spicy honey butter, a green chile pork guisada (a type of stew) with grits and eggs, or a sorghum pecan sticky bun.
