Bernie's Lounge and Supper Club Restaurant Review

: There seems to be an explosion of supper clubs invading Palm Springs and its neighboring environs these days. Bernie’s Lounge and (yes) Supper Club made its debut in the burgeoning South Palm Springs area in what was once Davey’s Hideaway. There’s a "Mad Men" vibe going on with some Rat Pack panache thrown in for good measure. It actually feels like vintage Palm Springs where you might expect Peter Lawford to stroll through the door. The motif has a formal sort of appearance, with the oversize booths cloaked in black with white buttons providing a tuxedo look. Crimson walls and eye-popping artwork feel contemporary yet retro. As for the menu, it’s classic prime rib served with a baked potato and fresh greens; a wedge salad with a confetti of pancetta, tomato confit, fried shallots and Point Reyes blue cheese; or escargots. Bernie’s Lounge is fun and the type of place that calls for a smoking jacket or pencil skirt, accompanied by a double-olive martini. Nightly live entertainment is an added bonus.
