| Owner Charles Myers fuses his interest in regional cuisine with a longtime commitment to local producers and seasonal produce, resulting in daily specials such as a summer gazpacho soup or roasted squash tacos. Items on the regular menu are no exception, with favorites ranging from a bowl of spicy pozole topped with a fried egg to ancho chile-glazed wild salmon and a Vietnamese pork loin banh mi on a crusty baguette with zesty pickled vegetables. Many entrées are available as a vegetarian option. If your meal comes with a choice of fries or salad, you can’t go wrong either way---the old-style fries are lightly dusted with a savory salt, and the salad is topped with spicy-sweet roasted pecans. You’ll also have a tough choice between the freshly baked cornbread muffins or the buttermilk-ginger coffee cake offered at breakfast. Desserts always include a seasonal fruit crisp, but we like breaking into the Chinese five-spice crème brûlée. Central Coast wines have always been a hallmark of Big Sky, and the vibrant, open-air patio accentuates the “urban café” feel. |
