Great Wine List* Click here for rating key
Industrial-chic Bin 36 includes a wine shop, coffee bar, cheese bar, zinc-topped wine bar, dining room and function space. As the name implies, wine is the focus, and the list---honed by Brian Duncan and available by the taste, glass, bottle or flight---is impressive but pretension-free. Much is done to demystify wine and to help the diner select pairings, which only adds to the place’s popularity. At breakfast and lunch, the casual café---with a bistro menu of burgers, pizzas, salads, rotisserie chicken---is the center of activity. At dinner, the dining room fills with a crowd that knows John Caputo’s style, which might include offerings like house-smoked salmon or a Moroccan-spiced pork chop. If you want to snack, make a meal out of the always exciting imported and domestic cheeses. The retail part of the space sells wines and related paraphernalia. A full-fledged cheese bar lets patrons sidle up to select from 50 kinds of global cheeses. |
