Birch River Grill Restaurant Review: Inviting prairie-style décor creates a homey vibe from the get-go thanks to wood details, earthy twig accents, neutral tones and a roaring fireplace. The menu has something for everyone. The Boursin-stuffed mushrooms with horseradish sauce are a meal by themselves, but it is the bourbon-glazed pork tenderloin, served atop coarse, cheesy grits, you'll no doubt long for. Ditto the comforting pot roast with potatoes, carrots, onion and celery in red wine sauce. Not your cup of tea? There’s something addictive about the sauce used on the slaw-topped, pulled pork sliders. A just-right finale is the airy lemon mousse-topped lemon chiffon cake --- as long as you remember to share. If you’re looking for steals, come Friday through Sunday for all-you-can-eat options, such as fish, ribs or the broasted chicken.
