 Bistro Lancaster Restaurant Review: Bistro Lancaster is a downtown landmark located in the heart of the theater district in the elegant Lancaster hotel, which makes it a prime spot to dine before an evening of the arts. The intimate dining room has the look of an English manor with deep green walls, botanical prints and a handsome bar. The menu features creative American cuisine, small plates inspired by the Mediterranean, and traditional bistro offerings with touches of the Gulf Coast. Appetizers include a pan-fried crawfish cake in a spicy Creole rémoulade; a grilled portobello mushroom with fire-roasted asparagus; and tomatoes with mozzarella and crab meat in a lemon-dill dressing. Main courses include sautéed pecan-crusted rainbow trout filets, and barbecued gulf prawns. We also suggest the medallions of Black Angus tenderloin in a chipotle chile butter. For dessert, try the bread pudding, a warm, dreamy mass covered in crème fraîche and caramel and studded with dried candied cherries with a fig coulis. The service is sharp, making Bistro Lancaster a fine choice for a quiet breakfast meeting, or a pleasant midday respite from the office. |
