Bistro Laurent Restaurant Review: Bistro Laurent delivers classic French cuisine, albeit with a lighter touch for California palates. Enjoy the silky French onion soup, a smoked salmon tart with crème fraîche, or the crispy crab risotto with beurre blanc sauce. Refreshing house-made sorbets are the perfect way to end the meal. Consider, too, a four- or five-course tasting menu, which is available with spot-on wine pairings. Choose one of three items in each course, perhaps starting with the blue crab and avocado salad, then wild sea bass filet and braised veal cheeks with fingerling potatoes, all topped off with chocolate pot de crème for dessert. Not surprisingly, the extensive wine list celebrates both local and international labels, with many poured by the glass, and everything on the list and more can be found in Bistro Laurent’s wine shop next door.
