This charming, converted two-story home, with a lush, green courtyard, is an elegant setting for romance. Inside, white tablecloths, candles and fireplace lend a touch of class, but outside on the patio, Bistro Vino breaks away from its formal trappings with wrought-iron furnishings and a trickling fountain. Bistro Vino’s Continental menu adheres to tradition with a slate of grilled items, the best of which is the snapper with artichokes in a lemon butter sauce. The Petrossian Norwegian smoked salmon roulade and the quail stuffed with veal are also well prepared. Some diners probably applaud such attempts at high-brow cuisine, but those who follow today’s trends may be left wanting for more contemporary twists. Though the food can be a disappointment, don’t let it stop you from enjoying the great outdoors at Bistro Vino, especially on a weekend afternoon sipping wine with friends. Just keep your dining expectations low and your alcohol intake high.
