To the collective relief of sweets-seekers who previously sought Jessie Oloroso’s icy treats around town, a proper storefront now proffers her creative, contemporary creations. (Incidentally, there’s also a pushcart tempting passersby around town, so watch out.) Oloroso, ex-Scylla, is a pastry chef by trade, and her background informs flavors, which often play upon both the savory and sweet. Not to be missed is the lush goat cheese-cashew caramel as well as the much-hyped whiskey gelato bar, which is dipped in chocolate and rimmed with bacon. We also suggest the malted vanilla and Mexican hot chocolate. The only problem, as we see it, is the demand; in other words, don’t be surprised if flavors, like salted peanut and sesame fig, have been licked up in advance of your visit. Still, should it happen, it's a good case for ordering one of the house-made sodas or, perhaps, a gelato cookie sandwich.
