But then you'd be missing the experience of investigating the powerful range of Mexican cooking, from the playful flavors of Tijuana to the sophistication of Mexico City to the piquant seasoning of Oaxaca. The menu brings such savory dishes as slow-roasted pork carnitas with all the trimmings and seared diver scallops in tequila-lime butter on jalapeño-cheddar polenta. Tile-topped tables in deep green, chocolate-colored stucco walls, a crazy wire sculpture of a mariachi band, and lazy ceiling fans stirring up a gentle breeze complete the always-congenial scene. |
