Boogie's Diner Restaurant Review: Boogie’s Diner brings back a slick, cinematic vision of the 1950s and '60s and the way we ate back then: soups and chili, burgers and dogs, hearty meals and comfort food favorites like a hot open-face turkey sandwich and macaroni and cheese. Here you’ll find oldies but goodies like the cold meatloaf sandwich and the tuna melt, best eaten with a giant malted milkshake from the fountain. There's even a spud bar with hefty, one-pound potatoes and myriad toppings. Like the ’50s Corvette on the main floor, the brownies and apple pie are American icons of yesteryear. The kitchen, however, keeps up with modern trends, using only lean meats, cholesterol-free mayonnaise and canola oil for frying. It's a good thing the grub doesn't carry Prada price tags, because the service is often full of altitude-high attitude. |
