Brockett Pub House & Grill Restaurant Review:

This family-owned pub draws a varied audience, ranging from biker types to accountants, all gathering to watch games on the several big-screen TVs. Décor pays little heed to visual niceties. Owners Christina and John Gagne maintain the quality, and that's what keeps the crowds coming. Start a cold evening with a cup of spicy house-made chili. The burger is a substantial two-hander with all the trimmings; vegetarians, who have lots to choose from here, may enjoy the black bean burger. The restaurant makes its own beer-braised corned beef for the excellent Reuben; get it with a generous side of fried pickles. Spicy ginger peanut coleslaw makes a worthy companion. Daily specials raise the bar a notch, but if you plan to have the day's choice, get there early as it often runs out soon. Made-in-house desserts change daily; we've enjoyed a Heath bar-topped cream layer cake. The wine list is perfunctory, but Brockett deals in beers by the bucketful, so they’re the quaff to target. The drafts list rotates often; however, local suds have a tap or two among the lot.
