Bruegger's Bagel Bakery Restaurant Review: Bruegger's bagels are made the old-fashioned way---kettle-boiled and stone-hearth-baked. Bagels come in standard issue plain, salt, poppy seed and garlic for the purists and experimental flavors such as sun-dried tomato for those who can't leave well enough alone. As for schmears, there are 14 different boutique varieties to choose from. For a breakfast bagel sandwich that is far superior to most fast food offerings order the “Western,” which comes with egg, bacon, roasted red peppers, red onions and chipotle sauce. Unfortunately, the coffee at Bruegger's isn't as good as we want it to be, but many locations remedy this shortcoming by sharing a wall with local coffee spot Caribou Coffee.
