Buca di Beppo Restaurant Review: Buca di Beppo (meaning "Joe's Basement") does all the classics of Italian-American cooking well, and in big portions to please families. The chunky marinara sauce is so thick and richly tomato-y, you wouldn't care if they put it on your tiramisu. Well, not quite, because this tiramisu, soaked in dark rum and built with espresso-soaked lady fingers, is satisfying as is. Large pizzas, based on thin Neapolitan-style crusts, can cost up to $20, but one will dispense at least a half dozen good-size servings. The midday menu focuses on salads, sandwiches and pizzas. Dinner brings on more substantial fare, such as roast boneless pork and chicken, plus other traditional dishes such as chicken al Marsala and veal al limone. Cappuccino comes in a generously sized cup and is strong and delicious. The wine list is very commercial, and leaves us totally bored.
