The Buckeye Roadhouse's American comfort food has been warming the bellies of locals and tourists since the 1930s, but these days the cuisine takes a modern bent. Indulge in braised short ribs with horseradish-infused mashed potatoes, roasted chicken, warm spinach salad and, of course, huge burgers. Don’t miss Marin's most delicate onion strings or Oysters Bingo, the Buckeye’s plush, indulgent one-upmanship on Oysters Rockefeller, and try the cool, tangy lemon pudding cake dessert. The "roadhouse" looks more like a hunting lodge inside with huge windows looking out onto green wilderness, stuffed animal trophies, a vaulted ceiling, and a massive stone fireplace. The sunny patio is a great place for Sunday brunch.
