| This upscale, see-and-be-seen steakhouse in the heart of downtown Santa Fe is a good place to broker deals, but patrons come here for the food, especially steak. Bathed in steaming butter, the filet mignon and the New York strip are beyond tender. Though most restaurants in town offer just one style of potato, The Bull Ring takes potatoes seriously: order them as french fries, shoestrings, cottage fries, mashed, au gratin, baked or lyonnaise-style (sautéed with onions). The wine list includes over 80 selections, hailing from the Napa and Sonoma valleys to New Zealand and Spain, with a handful available by the glass or half-bottle. If you are not into meat-and-potatoes, the kitchen dishes up several nice fish dishes and a vegetarian platter. Even so, this palace of steer is steakhouse through and through. |
