THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Cafe Botticelli Restaurant Review:

Some are tempted to call the renaissance going on in this part of town Midtown Madness. The urban-blighted area became a war zone of construction during the past year or so, but it is now emerging with row upon row of new and restored apartment buildings. This influx of residential housing has brought with it resurgence to the dining scene, which is throbbing with the latest culinary concoctions. All the more reason to welcome the simple sensation that is Café Botticelli. Located in the same apartment building as the happening Farrago, it is a quiet retreat from Midtown's bustling bar scene. Though its décor is decidedly 60s retro, with hip orange, green and yellow tiles, the ambience is welcoming with plush sofas and Italian lamps. Here, you can relax with a cup of Italian coffee, spiked with Amaretto, or soothing orange spice tea. Both go nicely with the decadent desserts or heart-healthy pastries. Other beverages include cappuccino drinks, smoothies and chai, not to mention a full bar. There's also sustenance to be found after 10 a.m. when the café rolls out a selection of salads and sandwiches. Try the panini Tuscany with spicy salami, prosciutto, sun-dried tomatoes and Gorgonzola cheese, or the antipasto salad with Italian meats and cheeses, as well as eggplant.
