California Pizza Kitchen Restaurant Review:

Fantasizing about Thai chicken pizza or grilled garlic shrimp pizza? Or maybe a pear and Gorgonzola pie is more your mood. There’s no California dreaming at this outpost of the global chain, where you’ll dig into some of the most creative pizzas in Houston with enough variety to order a different one every day of the month. But it’s definitely not all about pizza. Count on a wide range of inspired appetizers, including Asian pot stickers and Tuscan hummus. Desserts are good, too, including a tart and creamy Key lime pie. In between, find salads big enough to share, including a barbecued chicken chopped salad; and elegant combo of romaine, watercress and fresh beets; and a Nueske’s applewood smoked bacon salad topped with crispy buttermilk-battered onions. The original Post Oak location is hopping at lunch during the week with nearby Galleria workers, but curbside service is available for pick-up orders.
