| With attentive servers whisking around the dimly lit dining room, this is the perfect place to relax after a day of shopping or catching a nearby flick. Start off with a Patron margarita or the hand-muddled mojito---or try a flight of fine tequilas to expand your palate. The guacamole is made tableside and bursts with flavors of cilantro and citrus. Begin with the botanas platter---tacos al pastor, chicken fajita quesadillas, chili con queso, stuffed jalapeños and skewers of meats and vegetables. While Cantina Laredo prepares Mexican staples quite well, it also offers several substantial salad options; we suggest the mango chicken salad, tossed with jícama, seasoned pumpkin seeds, grapes, mint and queso fresco and dressed with a honey vinaigrette. And while the aged and basted Cascabel rib-eye is a specialty of the house, we also gravitate toward the spinach or chicken mole enchiladas. Cantina Laredo serves a Sunday brunch that adds several huevos recipes to the usual lunch menu and includes a complimentary mimosa or Bloody Maria. Our favorites from the dessert menu are the sizzling Mexican apple pie served with brandy butter and cinnamon ice cream and the apple cranberry crêpes. |
