Although it has been around since 1933, this remains a very nautical and very nice place to indulge in dishes from the watery deep. Add that to the fact that the bar --- as appropriately old school as can be --- is as friendly as a puppy dog. The must-try dishes here are the Bookbinder red snapper soup; fish of all sorts with, perhaps, avocado aïoli rémoulade; Dover sole that’s deboned tableside; and any of the lobster dishes. That covers a lot of the briny deep, but take our word for it, the kitchen knows how to do seafood. If you've come for a tryst, ask for one of the cozy booths on the upper level. Sustainable options are available.
