Carlos & Pepe's Restaurant Review: A traditional Mexican-American neighborhood restaurant, Carlos & Pepe's won't disappoint those in search of nachos, quesadillas, fajitas, enchiladas and Mexican pizza. You better like lots of gooey, melted cheese, as that's the main cooking style exhibited here. The Cobb salad is surprisingly good---very similar to the original Brown Derby recipe, and the spicy salsa cruda that comes with complimentary chips is also a worthy rendition, chunky with fresh tomatoes. There are good margaritas, too, and as long as you're enjoying your faux-Mex meal, might as well finish up with deep-fried ice cream, sit back, and watch one of the blaring television sets. |
