Casa De Pico Restaurant Review: The former Old Town eatery has found success in La Mesa as Casa De Pico offers East County residents authentic Mexican fare. Of particular note is the carnitas that we like to wrap in griddle-fresh tortillas. We also suggest the char-broiled chili poblanos stuffed with moist chicken and smothered in melted cheese. The menu is expansive with everything from ceviche and fajitas to tamales and tequila lime shrimp. The patio, with its fountains, rainbow-colored umbrellas and strolling mariachis, calls for leisurely afternoons focused on eating and communing. The interior is another whirlwind of color and folk art with wrought iron chandeliers hanging above.
