| Grab a siesta and go late to miss the tourist scene (meals are served until 1 a.m. on weekends). The food is straightforward, though not truly authentic. There is a tempting array of Spanish wines; the sangrĂa could be more potent. Boisterous musicians wander. Traditional Spanish seafood dishes, based on local fresh fish, sound promising on the menu. Pass. The key, we discovered, is to stick with simple paella, a Rioja and, for dessert, a crema Catalana. |
