ChaChah is hardly your ordinary tapas bar. Chef Arnold Myint goes above and beyond expectations, blending novel and rustic flavors in a bungalow renovated in modernist style. You experience his global vision in a series of small bites: start with anything on the in-house charcuterie and cheese board and then branch out with lamb meatballs, watermelon “carpaccio” or salmon crudo. For a traditional meal, you can choose from a concise selection of more traditional dishes such as pan-seared halibut with local vegetables and asparagus foam, or steak with shiitake tempura and heirloom carrots. Among the interesting cocktails are the Metropolitan with Eagle Rare bourbon and rosemary syrup, and the Hibiscus Kiss with vodka and tea brewed with the namesake flower. The wine list is brief but focused on boutique producers, with a mind toward affordable bottles. For dessert, go for the Mexican chocolate panna cotta with bacon crumble and bananas.
