What if a renowned local steakhouse offered only four entrées from which to choose? What would you do? At Charlie’s, you would probably wait in the bar or outside in the heat for up to an hour for a table. Charlie's big attraction is your choice of an extra thick ten-ounce filet, a juicy 20- or 24-ounce T-bone, or “The Charlie,” a 32-ounce T-bone. Couple those with good au gratin potatoes and mushrooms bordelaise, and you have made some New Orleans memories. You can also get a decent glass of red wine to go with your steak. Dessert is pretty special: Italian ice creams, spumoni and biscotti from Angelo Brocato’s. Bottom line: Long wait for tables that are too close together, a noise level above average, and some of the best filets in the city. Hurry.
