Chateau Cordeillan-Bages Restaurant Review: In the heart of Médoc wine country, an area with few gastronomic choices, this restaurant provides a welcome exception. In this handsome, seventeenth-century château, everything possible has been done to make visitors comfortable. In the kitchen, Thierry Marx shows a mastery of excellent ingredients, including superb Pauillac lamb. During our last visit, we were impressed by his Marennes oyster flan, a perfect turbot served with a balsamic and honey sauce, and irreprochable side dishes of tomato crépinette and marble-sized potatoes. The desserts would satisfy even the most demanding customer. The 50-page wine list contains some of the best bottles available. The verdict: pure joy among the vineyards.
