| Chutneys’ light-filled dining room, tastefully accented with Indian art and artifacts, is the setting for well-prepared Indian favorites with a nod to Western palates. An open kitchen surrounded by the bar, lounge and dining room takes center stage. A lengthy menu offers many vegetarian options. Lobster, trout, Dungeness crab and salmon make an appearance, while lamb is prepared half a dozen ways, including in a classic Southern Indian coconut stew. We also recommend the smoky bengan bharta (eggplant) and the tandoori scallops. A New York steak topped with a curried mushroom-wine sauce is available, too. Lunch features Chutneys’ bargain buffet, or choose soups, salads, wraps, and pasta à la carte. |
