CIRCA at Foggy Bottom Restaurant Review:

About the restaurant: Right in the vicinity of DC’s George Washington University and George Washington University Hospital, CIRCA (one of five in the metro area) has indoor and outdoor seating; the former area has a complete bar, but good weather draws patrons to the latter. It’s large enough for a capacity mealtime crowd that gathers for the kitchen’s creative take on American favorites.

Likes: Very casual and friendly.
Dislikes: Slow service.

Food & Drinks: Scroll through the list of appetizers to find tuna poke nachos (Hawaiian-Mexican), calamari frito misto with squash (Italian) and hummus (Middle Eastern). Choosing may be challenging, but the Brussels sprouts with smoked bacon and a garnish of blue cheese is a winner. Entrées include sandwiches (try the bison burger) and mains such as pan-seared halibut and pasta primavera and exotic flatbreads. Dinner dishes are similar but dressed up. For dessert, consider the white chocolate cheesecake and apple pie with cinnamon streusel. Check out the extensive drinks selection for light to heavy-duty cocktails. Brunch, late-night and happy hour offerings are available.
