| There’s nothing like Irish hospitality to help you ease your way into a sociable frame of mind. That’s what happens at this neighborhood pub, where you just might find yourself chatting with your new best friend at a neighboring table. Whether in the bar or dining room, "friendly" is the word for the place and its twenty- to sixty-something clientele. Even the environs are welcoming, with flickering candlelight and sepia-toned murals of Irish musicians in the main dining room. On the menu is an appealing mix of sandwiches and bar food, with a dozen or so rib-sticking entrées thrown in. If a big, juicy hamburger or a grilled tuna sandwich doesn’t do it for you, then try a 14-ounce New York strip au poivre, the homemade meatloaf platter, or a rack of lamb with Irish whiskey demi-glace. Appetizers are big enough to share, and desserts are served in equally hearty portions. |
