Cleburne Cafeteria Restaurant Review:
The Mickelis family has owned and operated this family spot since 1941. Luckily some of founder Nick Mickelis’ paintings survived the flames and now hang on the new walls. Bigger and better than before, the cafeteria still offers down-home cooking and large portions. Think chicken fried chicken, blackened catfish and liver and onions. Check out the daily blackboard specials: Mondays offer corned beef and cabbage and a hearty beef stew. Desserts are from family recipes and include several kinds of pie and fruit cobblers like grandma used to make.
