 Coach Insignia Restaurant Review: What some rooftop restaurants often lack in food quality, they make up for with a view. Coach Insignia, however, does not fit the mold. From the riverfront or downtown scenery, to the food and fine service, Coach has it all. Start with Maine lobster corn dogs with whole-grain mustard hollandaise, or beef carpaccio complemented by black pepper mascarpone before moving on to the center cut filet mignon, Wagyu strip loin with shrimp Creole sauce, rack of lamb, lemon-herb chicken or Kurobuta pork chop. Meanwhile, the udon noodle bowl is prepared with Chinese vegetables and ginger-miso broth. The wine list offers sparkling options, dry whites and an extensive selection of reds, all listed under the headings of Old World and New World. Sommelier Chris Brock will assist to ensure proper pairings. Beer lovers can order hand-foraged artisan brews, and there's a nice line-up of cocktails as well. Linger over a dessert like the warm chocolate pudding cake while enjoying the Detroit River vistas. |
