Stephen Starr's uptown branch of his original Continental is a draw for its affordable global tapas and chic cocktails. Bigger than the Second Street version, the restaurant has a roof-deck bar and sensory overload décor to keep the place jumping day and night. Sit in a car seat booth or a hanging basket on the mezzanine level and nibble calamari salad, Korean pork tacos or even lamb chops. Sandwiches have fun names such as the Green Submarine vegetarian hoagie, or Healthy Elvis---the king's favorite dressed up with Nutella on multi-grain instead of white bread. Try the cotton candy du jour if your sweet tooth needs satisfying. Weekends are another story: Continental Mid-Town becomes the place to be for the young and the restless who sport this season's couture.
