| Here's where you grab a cooked-as-ordered burger, especially when you get the post-midnight munchies. Perch some crumbled blue cheese on top, a little pico de gallo, and savor. Sandwiches are standouts: the PB & J even comes with homemade jam. Main plates elevate the meat-and-two genre, and on Mondays, some are half price, making this one of the best deals in the metro area, especially as the portions are not reduced in size. Vegetarian options show respect for that customer. For snacking, check out the sliders. The wine list is predictably short, but one can always get a reliably good wine to go with one's choice, unless, of course, you prefer one of the many good beers. Drafts rotate, but reach to such microbrews as Magic Hat No. 9 from Vermont and Red Seal Ale from North Coast Brewing Company in northern California. NA beers also are good choices. Desserts include chocolate chip cookies; in the summer, the ice cream is house-made. For brunch, consider the "hangover hash" featuring scrambled eggs on a bed of home-fries and pulled pork barbecue. The place is so “neighborhood,” we’ve even seen wedding parties wrap the day here, its participants still wearing tuxes and bridal white. |
