Crab Shell Restaurant Review: If you've been to Malibu, Santa Monica or Balboa Island, you'll recognize the scene here: a fun and festive kick-back kind of place with an energetic waitstaff, water views and an extensive menu consisting of global fare, satisfying seafood and more. Appetizers run the gamut of international flavors, from Chinese-inspired sesame cashew firecracker shrimp with Asian peanut sauce to French onion soup gratinée. Main courses are similarly eclectic with highlights such as pan-fried grouper francaise served with shrimp and capers, and a salmon filet with black hoisin sauce.
