| This family-owned Italian restaurant is favored by the Rittenhouse Square locals, mainly for its dependable signature dishes and the warm and courteous service. The bar downstairs is quiet, but the second floor is where the action is---people greeting people, an occasional strolling troubadour, and there’s quite the dancing scene on the weekends. Order the big house salad that contains shrimp, bacon, hard-boiled egg and lots of vegetables in a Russian-type dressing, and the mammoth veal chop or a steak, with or without mozzarella and roasted peppers. All the pasta dishes are tasty, especially the fusilli Siciliana topped with eggplant, marinara and cheese, and the fettuccine in cream sauce with prosciutto and peas. Homemade lasagna and the veal dishes are memorable and whole-wheat pasta is available upon request. If you have room, the tiramisu, cannolis and sorbetti are there for the asking. A children's menu is sure to please the younger pasta eaters in the group. |
