Installing upholstered seating, banquettes and tables, and a long bar with stools warms up this older space with posters on one wall and a white painted brick wall displaying the menu framed chalkboard style. The nearby university supplies lots of student patronage who like the renowned margaritas; choose from frequently changing wines and lots of brews, too. Espresso is made from a machine (no pods) and uses topnotch Athens roaster Thousand Faces coffee. Jalapeño-studded queso can come with chorizo for an upcharge, and the tacos are fat with fillings. We like the house-made barbecue topped with red cabbage. Besides tacos, there are burgers, including a vegan burger. For breakfast, check out the gluten-free chicken and waffles or the corned beef hash. For dessert, try the tres leches cake.
