THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED David*Greggory Restau-Lounge Restaurant Review:

The creation of two gifted DC chefs---Greggory Hill, who formerly worked the kitchen at Gabriel, and David Hagedorn, who cooked at Trumpets---this restaurant sets high standards for its dazzling décor composed of paintings, flowers and uniforms from local artisans. It also offers dishes that take the idea of melding flavors to another high, with shots of Mediterranean, Southwestern and Asian tastes infusing every bite. Indulge in the assorted appetizers, known here as appas, a shortened or Americanized version of tapas, that could feed two or stand in for dinner itself. Favorites include zuccanelloni of feta cheese, pine nuts and more, and the roasted cob of corn with Virginia goat cheese. Notable also are the wood-roasted ancho chicken on a bed of garlicky mashed potatoes and the zany dessert, a Hagedorn creation called Cow-over-the-Moon Pie Goes Bananas. The wine list is commendable, and the cocktail selection makes this an attractive hangout for the young and somethings.
