daVinci's Restaurant Review: Da Vinci’s serves up reasonably priced New York-style Italian food in a distinctive turn-of-the-century building. Owners Larry and Jennifer Schwartz claim there isn’t a right angle in the place, which adds to its laid-back charm. Menu items range from mussels and clams as appetizers to a spectrum of pastas paired with spicy Italian sausage, chicken, pork or beef. Of particular note is the hearty baked eggplant Parmigiana and The Mona Lisa, with fresh angel hair pasta, yellow squash, zucchini, onions and mushrooms in a bright, peppery Tuscan tomato sauce. In appropriate Wood River Valley fashion, any pasta dish is also offered in a gluten-free version. Add a glass of vino from the simple but smart wine menu and the coziness of Little Italy is alive in the mountains. |
