| The Delancey Street Restaurant is an offshoot of one of the most successful halfway-house rehabilitation programs ever. Located in the condo-packed South Beach area, the restaurant offers a stunning waterfront view of the Bay. The Delancey Street residents, many of whom are former convicts and drug users, staff the front of the house and kitchen. The moderately priced food is traditional American fare highlighted by specialties drawn from the ethnic and regional backgrounds of the residents. You might be offered anything from salmon mousse to potato latkes to barbecued baby-back ribs. Desserts include sweet potato pie and apple pie. |
