Delta Cafe Restaurant Review: Delta Café’s large plates of none-too-subtle Creole food prepared with a Portland twist are the star attraction. Enjoy gargantuan portions of fried chicken, blackened catfish, jambalaya chicken-fried steak, and classic red beans and rice with andouille sausage. Oh, yes, and tofu Creole. Appetizers propose an array of fried items: okra, hush puppies and corn fritters. For sides, ordering cornbread, mashed turnips and carrots, or collard greens is a must. Dessert-wise, go seriously retro with a root beer float or rice crispy treat. At brunch, wash down the biscuits and gravy or basket of beignets with a fruit Champagne cocktail or a build-your-own Bloody Mary. There's also a decent kids’ menu, sure to please both parents and youngsters.
