THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Diner Restaurant Review:
Chef Ron Eyester's Atlantic Station venture is carefully contrived to recall the northern diners of the 40s and 50s that were fashioned sometimes out of railroad cars and wrapped in shiny metal sheaths. Bright colors, tiny tiles covering the floor and comfortable booth seating are all hallmarks of these institutions that are replicated with an upscale lift. Breakfast is offered all day, and that means supper may be a huge ham and cheese omelet with a side of either potatoes for the Northerners or grits (cheese grits an option) for the Southerners. Meatloaf, a good two-inch-thick slab, is well seasoned and satisfying with its accompanying potatoes and green beans. Some combinations seem a bit odd, such as sorghum and salmon. Desserts include cakes, pies and High Road Craft Ice Cream.
