Located in an Uptown Design District storefront, Dish Creative Cuisine continues to evolve as one of the town’s better restaurants. Open for dinner with a speakeasy vibe after 10 p.m. on Saturday nights, it is a place where locals tend to gravitate in droves. Chef-owner Joane Garcia-Colson, a former lawyer now food maven, offers up a molecular, contemporary American menu that is always spot on for the season, and it’s divided into "Conversation Starters" and "Main Topics." Compressed watermelon is complemented by baby heirloom tomatoes, feta crumbles, pistachio dust, balsamic pearls and basil granita. Continue with diver scallops over vanilla couscous or coq au vin with heirloom carrot spheres. Even bread service is special, with the arrival of savory donuts. The full bar is equally creative with a number of herb-infused cocktails coupled with a nicely curated wine list. Save room for dessert, especially the mini almond cakes with pear compote, whipped chèvre and arugula, a surprisingly delectable end to a meal.
