Dominick's Italian Restaurant Restaurant Review:
The front room of this cavernous space on Oxnard Boulevard is the brightest. The kid-friendly wooden booths along the windows are lined with red pleather for easy cleaning. The back room, on the other hand, feels more like a lounge, and patrons can order from a full roster of alcoholic drinks. Home-style Italian comfort food and a familial vibe make this a locals’ favorite. Indeed, the same family has been dishing up fettuccine Alfredo, shrimp marinara, pizza and calzones since 1949. Don’t miss the house-made sausage links smothered in bell peppers, onions and fresh mushrooms in a tomato sauce. Lightly breaded Milanese veal cutlet also stands out. And the prices are quite reasonable, even at dinner, with most entrées (including soup or salad) landing under $15. House-made cheesecake, cannoli and spumoni ice cream headline the dessert list.
