Korea native Donnie Kim established a total of four successful restaurants in the metro Atlanta area, all cooking Southern food. Now he has sold this one to fellow Korean immigrant, Myong Chzong. Charming and eager to please, she says all the Donnie's Country Cookin' locations cooperate with each other and with Kim to ensure continuity and quality. The ever-changing daily menu features at least five meat and fish choices, fresh vegetables and at least three desserts. A three-vegetable plate and a meat-and-two plate with bread and beverage are each under $6. Best bets are herbed roast chicken, fried whiting or catfish, and barbecued pork. Fresh veggies are reliable, but the mac 'n' cheese has an exaggerated golden color. A breakfast plate includes meat, eggs, fresh biscuits and buttered grits. All locations usually close at 8 p.m., although sometimes as early as 6 p.m., but picking up dinner to-go is easy if you prefer to dine later. Other locations.
