Dots Cafe Restaurant Review: The light always seems low in this longstanding Portland slacker hangout, and entering Dots Cafe is something like stumbling into a cavern. Groups hunker down in big booths over basic drinks, cheap beer, and enormous plates of cheese fries to debate everything from music to Machiavelli. But once your eyes adjust to the light, explore the rest of the menu; you’ll find decent, often vegetarian, food served in large portions for small prices. Try the vegan bowl (burrito fillings minus the tortilla), grilled cheese, burgers, or spicy tofu fries. Note that Dots, previously an all-cash operation, now accepts debit cards for payment. |
